Information about ensuring unhindered access to the buildings of an educational organization
The Kursk State Agricultural Academy is working to create basic conditions for inclusive education people with disabilities.
The territory of the academy (campus) is adapted for unhindered, safe and convenient movement of students with limited mobility. Wide pedestrian paths are equipped, the movement of motor vehicles is prohibited on the territory of the academy. There is a car parking lot in the courtyard of the main academic building, where places are reserved for parking cars of people with disabilities. The necessary material and technical conditions for inclusive education have been created in the buildings and premises of the academy. The entrance to the building of the Faculty of Engineering is equipped with a ramp, the entrance to the main academic building is equipped with wide opening doors sufficient for the passage of a wheelchair.
There are signs, including those made in Braille for visually impaired people. There are tactile floor warning signs for visually impaired persons indicating the direction of movement and obstacles, there is an anti-slip coating on the edge of the steps, as well as contrasting stripes at the beginning and end of the staircase in the lobby. Ramps with an anti-slip surface have been installed to overcome the height difference by people of the category of low-mobility groups of the population. A specialized sanitary room is equipped for all categories of persons with disabilities (doorways are expanded, special plumbing equipment, handrails, an assistant call system, switches, sockets at the required height are installed.
In the classrooms, including classrooms for practical classes, front rows and reading rooms are equipped with workplaces for people with disabilities: at the window, in the middle row and (or) a row near the doorway, single tables are installed instead of double tables, the size of the zone is increased by one place, taking into account the entrance and the turn of the wheelchair, the width of the passage between the rows of tables is increased.
The Kursk State Agricultural Academy has a dormitory that is recognized as accessible to all categories of disabled people: disabled people who move in wheelchairs, disabled people with musculoskeletal disorders, visually impaired people, hearing impaired people.
A special procedure has been established for the development of physical training and sports disciplines in the Kursk State Agricultural Academy. Students with disabilities are offered tasks and a special complex of exercises for independent physical improvement. For students with disabilities, classes are held in special (medical) groups with accessible physical activity, taking into account the characteristics of each student. The Academy has an office of adaptive physical training.
In the structure of the departments of the Kursk State Agricultural Academy there is a medical center where students with disabilities can receive free qualified medical care for injuries, acute and chronic diseases, can carry out therapeutic, preventive and rehabilitation measures.
In order to ensure the availability of higher education according to educational programs for disabled people, the academy provides: an alternative version of the organization's official website on the Internet for the visually impaired; access to information systems and information and telecommunications networks adapted for use by disabled people; contracts have been signed for the use of electronic library systems that have literature, including in the form of audiobooks.
