Faculty of Agricultural Technology
Currently, the faculty has 5 departments: "Soil Science and General Agriculture named after Professor V. D. Mukha", "Ecology, Horticulture and Landscape design", "Technologies of Production and Processing of Agricultural Products", "Physical training and sports", "Crop production, Seed Breeding".
The faculty has a high scientific and professional potential for training highly qualified personnel for the agro-industrial complex. Today, the educational process is provided by 42 teachers, including 7 doctors of sciences, professors. 64% of teachers have academic degrees and titles.
Innovative methods, technologies and forms are widely used in the educational process: computer testing, subject Olympiads, including Internet Olympiads. Classroom classes are conducted using multimedia presentations, educational videos and films. All students are provided with free Internet access.
The scientists of the faculty maintain a close relationship with the enterprises of the agro-industrial complex of the Kursk region and the country. Practical knowledge, educational, technological and pre-graduate practices are carried out on farms, at the educational and production department, in the agrochemical laboratory, the State Border Inspection, greenhouse plants, processing plants, bread products factories, poultry farms, the Konti Rus confectionery factory, the SUN IN BEV brewing company, canneries.
At the faculty there are currently 2 scientific schools (professors A. I. Stifeev, I. Ya. Pigorev) and a student scientific society, which includes 4 scientific sections.
The main experimental base of the research work of students and agronomic departments is an experimental field with an area of 120 hectares.
Currently, relations with educational institutions of foreign countries are expanding. Students of the faculty go to study and practice in France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and other developed countries of Europe, and teachers of departments are also trained in these countries.
The Faculty of Agricultural Technology has all the conditions not only for studying, but also for sports, amateur art, spiritual and cultural improvement. Throughout the history of theacademy, the teaching staff and students actively participate in amateur performances and sports competitions of the academy and have repeatedly won prizes at intra-and inter-university competitions, competitions, sports contests and other events.
